Spring 2019 *Music Together* Semester enrollment now open!
New Songbook for the Spring!
The new edition of the Tambourine family songbook series is debuting this spring! Each song is brought to life through colorful and engaging illustrations by award-winning artist Jaime Kim and children's book illustrator Gerald Kelley. The new book will inspire your family to play with music all week long. You'll find it helpful to learn the lyrics, as a jumping-off point for creative storytelling, and to learn more about the songs you're singing in class. Your child may enjoy snuggling with you and singing through the whole book at once—or opening to a page to tell you what song they want to sing!
You'll learn twenty-five Music Together songs and activities you can recreate at home. Your children will experience the contrast between galloping, slowing, sleeping, then jumping up with delight to gallop again in “See the Pony Galloping.” The whole class will treasure the opportunity to see one of the daddies’ best monkey impressions during “One Little Owl”. In addition to your weekly classes, your tuition includes materials for you to use at home and a family newsletter full of resources and music-making ideas, and online access to the curriculum through the Hello Everybody app.
What your registration includes:
• Eight weeks (6 weeks in Summer) of Music Together classes with the chance to make up missed classes during another class.
• A professionally recorded CD + digital access code.
• An illustrated printed songbook with the lyrics, notes, and family activity suggestions for each song based on the age of your child
• Parent education to help adults understand and enhance their child's music development.
• A quarterly e-newsletter and access to the Music Together national website
• New families receive the booklet Music and Your Child, a guide for parents and caregivers.
Brief Intro: About Our Classes
What is a Music Together class offered by SingSteps?
Classes meet once a week for 45 minutes a class, with 6 to 12 children and their parents/caregivers.
Everybody sings! The Music Together® teacher acts as a guide to help parents and primary caregivers to create a fun model for making music as a family.
Everybody dances! We love dancing all around the room - sometimes in a more planned way, often just moving freely through space, dancing to music with the people we love.
Everybody plays! We use rhythm instruments, scarves, shaker eggs, rhythm sticks, and other instruments/props several times each class, maintaining a fun, playful environment that encourages involvement, and exploration.
Every registered family receives a songbook, CD, and a code to access the Family Music Zone at www.musictogether.com. There are nine song collections that rotate over three years, and three summer collections.
